This is what I want!
Since I'm gonna need my own cell plan this is what I'll end up doing. Those phones are expensive! I'd like the Nokia E61. I don't want a plan, just want the phone. What a hassle, gotta make asterisk work, pay a bunch for a phone, configure the phone, get a minimal plan from ... somebody.

Thats a unlocked blackberry phone. Not sure if it has voip, but it looks like its in your price range. They have other unlocked phones on their too.
