Creeped it out too much, or who knows? Hard to evaluate if no feedback. That's gonna be my new method, if I get turned away or ignored without a reason given I'm going to ask for a reason. In a nice non-threatening way, like a survey of their experience with me.

Turns out my survey worked. Got a response, and an explanation, and boundaries for future conversation. Whether or not future conversation will happen, no clue. It's nice to know what you did "wrong".
