la la - trade CDs by mail, (beta)
Gosh, not sure this is legal, trading CDs via the mail. I've signed up...not sure I want to give my credit card info... If I'm just sharing my cds why do I need to give my credit card info? Think it's in beta right now. lala.com Welp, gave in and provided some cc stuff. Costs a dollar (plus 49 cents postage) to borrow trade a cd from another la la member. So, if this really works I can rip all kinds of cds in any format I want, at any bitrate I want, for only $1.49 each. Who buys CDs anymore? Eh it's a beta, we'll see what happens. For some reason I thought I was just lending CDs, don't think that's the case, I'm trading my CDs and won't be seeing them again. That's ok, just gotta make sure I make some backups of my ripped cds.
update: Got my shipping kit today! Sending out 5 cds tomorrow, wonder if I'll ever get any of the CDs I've requested for trade...
update: One Four Five of the CDs I wanted in trade is are on it's their way, Woo Hoo!

Well its cheaper cause I forgot thats a whole cd. Unless of curse they lie and give you a cd with nothing or with only one song. Also the riaa could sign up with many accounts then they get your address so they can send you the cd so then they have your address and they can sue you. Also they could send you a cd with a root kit for windows and then maybe with some kind of mac spyware that bypasses mac secuirty and installs itself. So using this makes it easier for the riaa to get your address. They don't have to contact your isp.

Theif.
Riaa wrote:
You'll say your not a theif but you are because of what your going to do with the cd. Your not going to just listen to it but rip it to your hard drive. If you were just going to listen to it then that wouldn't be stealing. Riping the cd that you "borrowed" is stealing. I'm sure the riaa would say the same. If your going to steal the music anyways I don't see why you don't just use a file sharing program. Your doing the same thing and you don't have to wait as long. I'm sure the site will be gone one day. As the riaa will take em down. Possibly sueing all people that used the service.

I'm not borrowing anything, I'm trading, once I have a cd, I own it and can do what I please with it. This is basically the same as buying used cds, and that's perfectly legal.
ddmb wrote:
Well then you must delete all the songs from the cd you got rid of. You don't have it anymore therefore if you keep the songs <strike>your</strike> you are stealing. You must own the songs either on cd or from iTunes for the music to be legal. So if <strike>your</strike> you are keeping the music that was on that cd then <strike>your</strike> you are <strike>braking</strike> breaking the law. Their service is promoting in just doing that. So I still think they will go down.

I disagree. I need some sort of plugin for grammar, or spelling, or context, or I don't know what.
Uncle wrote:
Your a moron you are is the same as your. Both are correct. Braking sounds like brake as in you put your brake on while break is breaking something.

Don't see why you put a cross through it when it looks better to delete the word.

Makes no god damn fuckin sense.

Your = you are never.

As to the One Four thing, read the site, not the rss.
Dumb wrote:
I don't read the rss. I read the site and I can see the line through it but still read it. Also your is short for you are depending on how you say it. You don't know everything and neither do I. But what I said with you are is equal to your. If it makes sense then its good enough. So quit being a picky ass.
Picky asshole just like you wrote:
Also your grammer is extremely bad. Puting a strike through it isn't going to work. You can still read it. Its not correct at all. Maybe you should go back to school. So then your grammer will be right. Hahahaaha picky ass.
John wrote:
Please correct your grammer.
"One Four Five of the CDs I wanted in trade is are on it's their way, Woo Hoo!"
Is not correct. You need to correct your own grammer too. Instead of correcting everybody elses when your's is wrong. Very sad.

Its funny that you still havn't fixed your OWN grammar.
Music is still cheaper on itunes. But its harder for the riaa to find you cause they'd have to either hack into the site or spy on you illegally.
