Cow key ring with light up nose and sound, lost somehow already and must find just for the light up nose.

One thing I asked for I didn't get was one or more Nalgene water bottles. I don't think one of the T-shirts I got is funny, the LMFO one. Sense of humor is subjective. Oh, and the totally unexpected Steam Cleaner, big surprise, and a useful item. Why was it dusty?

Things I asked for and got, Titanium Spork, MAKE Magazine subscription, new headphones for my iPhone, car charger for iPod and or iPhone, Mario / Luigi for President '08 T-Shirt. I didn't really ask for much. The headphones were what I really wanted.

All in all I should've asked for a Wii. Kidding, but having played a bit with one I wouldn't mind having one just so I could master billiards and fishing on Wii Play.

When I plug my iPhone into the iPod adapter for my Rabbit I get a "This accessory does not support the iPhone...do you want to switch to airplane mode?" if you select "no" the music is supposed to come through the car stereo. Kinda hard to select "no" if the fucking phone is in the fucking console out of reach of my fucking fingers. I have yet to test it out, but I doubt I can reach and touch the "no". Even if it works I need a plastic cradle to hold the iPhone. It came with a variety pack of cradles for all the other iPods.

Update: The iPhone does work in the Rabbit, just spent the last hour adjusting my seat while listening to it. Not sure if the iPhone has to be in iPod mode before you plug it in, or selecting "no" does the trick, just glad it works. A very nice hour in my garage with me and my Rabbit, maybe a bit of Carbon Monoxide too.

Update Update: Just read the last sentence of that update again, kinda sounds like an auto-erotic asphyxiation confession. My Rabbit is a car not a vibrator.

What a long ass day, but it is finally over. Took a prop plane to Seattle, barely fit into the seat, I don't think it's cause I'm so big, more that those seats are so small. Mr. Successful business man sitting next to me took out his IBM Thinkpad, gee whiz that must be old if it has the IBM logo on it, and what does he log into? Novell.

Anyway, 42 dollar cab ride from the Airport to the VW dealership, signed some papers, got kinda lost looking for I-5 but thanks to Google Maps found that I wasn't lost just didn't go far enough, drive through the snow for 4 hours and now I'm home.

Booked the flight to go get my new car today. I haven't been on a plane for a while, thankfully the flight is only an hour or so long. Hope I don't have a panic attack during the trip because my seat is an exit seat, I might want to open that door if I get all out of sorts... I don't get all panicky much anymore. Somehow I grew out of it and just don't care.

Got my "Qwest DSL with MSN Price for Life" working with my wireless. Turns out I had some QoS stuff turned on for no good reason, turning off the QoS made all the various speed tests I tried show more realistic results. Still not getting the 7 Mbps down, more like 4.2, while the modem shows it's connected at around 5 something. Sadly they don't promise 7 Mbps, they claim "up to 7 Mbps" speeds. I can live with the 4-5 stuff as long as it's reliable.

A VW dealer in Seattle sez I qualify for the good 2.9 interest rate. I refuse to do business with my local VW dealer due to a bad deal in the past. The Seattle dealer and I can FedX the documents and maybe never meet, awesome! I hate car dealers. Sucks that I'll pay a bit more sales tax if I buy the car in Seattle, but it's worth it to screw my local dealer out of a sale.

Starting point to learn if you can get dough from the government for being yourself. I can't, I'd need a cooperative doctor to qualify and I haven't been to a doctor in a long time, plus I can keep a job for a while. I know I can get it if I make an effort. Only wondering if I could because I know some folk who are trying to get on the dole. I believe in them and their ability to work, so I'm sorta against them getting on SSI.

This works at home only for now, but seems to work better than the other thing I paid for, probably using the same concept. Takes forever to load because my library is so large. Who knew it'd be so easy? Turn on Apache, create a symbolic link, that's pretty much it. Why didn't I find this post before I bought that other thing? Amazon.com Kindle. Is this device worth 400 bucks? Maybe if you can hack it. I think it's neat that Amazon won't charge anything for the cellular stuff, what if you could convert it to other purposes? Would those other purposes be free, like the few seconds it takes to download a book? These are questions I have about the Kindle.

The movie still sucks, but it looks a lot better in Blu-Ray. I will say that you can sort of tell the bad guys from the good guys in the higher def version. Viewing the DVD version I couldn't really follow the action, or tell which robot was which. To be honest I was catching up on email and stuff during the heavy CGI scenes. Just wanted to see what's her name in a belly shirt and short skirt in high def.

I've seen that people take credit for my work. Not difficult work, took me 15 minutes or less to do it, squeezed it out before I left on Friday. Emailed the result of my work to the coworker that requested it. Subsequently read an email where that coworker claimed that they created it, they may have edited it, but don't take full credit. Just gives me more reason to hate on folk. This particular coworker couldn't have created it ever. Best to move on if able. Will be with some folk this weekend that might have some options.

I just bought a new glass screen and tools to replace it off eBay. Shit is coming from Hong Kong. Why do they call it 2G? That 2G stuff confuses me. Anyway, even if it's the wrong size it was only around 14 bucks. Isn't the 3G iPhone the second generation? They claim it fits a 4 gig iPhone, so that would be a first generation iPhone.

A local company can replace the busted glass screen on my iPhone for "... $65 (parts), $10.88 Shipping, and $35 labor...", so hmm, math, let's see 110.88. Cheaper than sending it back to Apple. Too bad I don't have some other phone lying around I could put the sim card into during the repair time. They say 5-10 days turnaround. Would they need to have my iPhone the whole time? Need to find out what it would cost to get out of my ATT contract. Then go T-Mobile and G1, depending on what it costs to dump ATT. Although, I'm liking an App on the iPhone called GasHog that helps you track how many miles per gallon you get, and what the fuel costs per mile.

That G1 looks goofy, has no standard headphone jack, doesn't play video, not truly open thanks to T-Mobile, has a 2 year contract like ATT.

Fuck it, I'm stuck. Maybe I'll get the 3G iPhone instead and sell the busted one to help offset the cost. I'll have to make sure to take blurry pictures of it.

It was very easy to setup the first 3 times. Why 3 times? Well, I'm trying to use Boxee on it and that requires some work, not really, but I tried it over again when samba wasn't working. Still need some work to get samba shares to load. All the iTunes stuff works great, I can stream any media in my iTunes library fine, movies I've bought, podcasts, music I've bought. What I really want is samba shares to work. That will involve some ssh and ftp work. NitoTV may be the answer. Not a novice to ssh or ftp so I'm not scared about it, just too late in the day to tackle it tonight.

BTW: Never knew I could boot from a USB card reader.
