I'm bidding on a bulb for my failing Sanyo PLV Z1 on eBay. Strange that if it runs for a few hours the picture doesn't fail or go to blue at all. Is that how a failing bulb works? Haven't checked the hours on the bulb, it's the original and I've had it for a few years. My projector is obviously the first generation since the bulb I'm bidding on will work with z1 through z5. bulb I need, maybe.

Didn't win, should've bid again, cheapest new bulb I can find is almost 300 bucks. Not really sure that the bulb I was bidding on works on all the models listed. If so I should find those bulb model numbers and check out prices.

Just discovered the joy of using the little remote for Front Row to control iTunes on my MacBook. Loving the combo of Airport Express and Front Row to push the iTunes noise out of my stereo. Sucks that if I'm using the MacBook I can't see the artist / track info unless I bring up Front Row or look at iTunes. Thinking I could use an Apple TV the same way I use my Airport Express and then I'd have the info I want on the TV screen and wouldn't need to bring up Front Row on my laptop when I'm busy. Too bad I don't have a wide screen TV yet.

I bet I could make a thing that shows the current track title as a widget, that would solve my problem. Might be something like that already.

Just watched the new version of The Hitcher. Ehh. Prefer the original with C. Thomas Howell and Rutger Hauer. If only there was a finger in the french fries in the new one... Plus the original didn't have a couple as the victims. Wanted to like it because of Sean Bean but the story wasn't good enough. I knew I was in for a bad experience when I saw the name Michael Bay as a producer in the opening credits.

Damn it! My beloved TiVo has developed a stutter in it's recordings. This thing is way beyond warranty, wonder what DirecTV will give me if I make a claim? Pretty sure I bought it and not paying per month to rent it. Damn damn damn. May be forced to make a MythTV box that actually works. Maybe a defrag will help... How can I dual tuner MythTV from my nearly dead TiVo? So sad, TiVo, I loved you while you worked, but no way I'm buying a new one, or renting a DVR from DirecTV.

Just bought the upgrade to Corel Painter X. At least it loads on my intel Mac unlike XI. Never did figure out why it wouldn't work, it might've been my problem, anyway, now I need to get my tablet to work so I can use the program properly. Corel is pretty cool, they let you download your purchase and offer a sort of insurance in case you have a hardware failure, or who knows, and need to d/l again in the next two years. Thinking about it...wait a minute, nothing prevents me from burning the image I downloaded, wasted money on that insurance.

Oh, this link has lots of videos to teach me how to use the program, thanks Corel. Must suck to be Corel. Adobe owns the pro graphics space.

update: My tablet works! Some Mac update a while ago must've fixed it. Now I need to remember how to use it.

Gonna give this a try in a few minutes, might win 2500 bucks if I don't suck at it. Also assuming Firefox doesn't crash like it has been today, same thing with Safari. Thinking it's because of Flash... World Series of Pop Culture. Shoot, damn browser crashed again. They knew I'd win, Adobe, Apple, fix the Flash, or maybe I need to put ice in my lap, too hot. Dell computers that have come off lease are available to buy at bargain prices, not sure how much of a bargain. It might have some warranty left, depending on the computer. I'm looking at the workstations because the cheap ones have Pentium 4 up to 2.9 ghz, 8X AGP slot and 4 PCI slots. Wondering if paying 250 bucks for a lease return would be better than building one from scratch, keep in mind I don't want to build one. There are so many to choose from all at 250 bucks. Just watched the unrated version of Shortbus. Not a family friendly film. I really didn't want to see some of the stuff that's in that movie. If that actor is flexible enough to do what he does, good for him, but why does he cry after? Oh right, he's suicidal. For me there's a bit too much dude on dude on dude action. At the end I think there is dude times 4 action about to happen. Wouldn't want to be part of that chain gang. Overall it's a pretty good movie, maybe I would've liked the rated version better, if there is one.

I have to remove the Playboy channel from my DirecTV package. And the Sports Pack. Both are things I don't look at enough to deserve a monthly fee.

Dummy at work told me that today. He voted, but didn't vote for president, just local elections. All because of the electoral college system we have, his lame state of Idaho only has 4. He claims that he hates the electoral college system and would rather that the popular vote would prevail. Hey dummy, you didn't vote for president, so yours didn't count period. The movie still sucks, but it looks a lot better in Blu-Ray. I will say that you can sort of tell the bad guys from the good guys in the higher def version. Viewing the DVD version I couldn't really follow the action, or tell which robot was which. To be honest I was catching up on email and stuff during the heavy CGI scenes. Just wanted to see what's her name in a belly shirt and short skirt in high def.

I've seen that people take credit for my work. Not difficult work, took me 15 minutes or less to do it, squeezed it out before I left on Friday. Emailed the result of my work to the coworker that requested it. Subsequently read an email where that coworker claimed that they created it, they may have edited it, but don't take full credit. Just gives me more reason to hate on folk. This particular coworker couldn't have created it ever. Best to move on if able. Will be with some folk this weekend that might have some options.

I just bought a new glass screen and tools to replace it off eBay. Shit is coming from Hong Kong. Why do they call it 2G? That 2G stuff confuses me. Anyway, even if it's the wrong size it was only around 14 bucks. Isn't the 3G iPhone the second generation? They claim it fits a 4 gig iPhone, so that would be a first generation iPhone.

A local company can replace the busted glass screen on my iPhone for "... $65 (parts), $10.88 Shipping, and $35 labor...", so hmm, math, let's see 110.88. Cheaper than sending it back to Apple. Too bad I don't have some other phone lying around I could put the sim card into during the repair time. They say 5-10 days turnaround. Would they need to have my iPhone the whole time? Need to find out what it would cost to get out of my ATT contract. Then go T-Mobile and G1, depending on what it costs to dump ATT. Although, I'm liking an App on the iPhone called GasHog that helps you track how many miles per gallon you get, and what the fuel costs per mile.

That G1 looks goofy, has no standard headphone jack, doesn't play video, not truly open thanks to T-Mobile, has a 2 year contract like ATT.

Fuck it, I'm stuck. Maybe I'll get the 3G iPhone instead and sell the busted one to help offset the cost. I'll have to make sure to take blurry pictures of it.

It was very easy to setup the first 3 times. Why 3 times? Well, I'm trying to use Boxee on it and that requires some work, not really, but I tried it over again when samba wasn't working. Still need some work to get samba shares to load. All the iTunes stuff works great, I can stream any media in my iTunes library fine, movies I've bought, podcasts, music I've bought. What I really want is samba shares to work. That will involve some ssh and ftp work. NitoTV may be the answer. Not a novice to ssh or ftp so I'm not scared about it, just too late in the day to tackle it tonight.

BTW: Never knew I could boot from a USB card reader.

BTW 2: The 2.2 Apple TV update included 1080p.
