I made an awful joke today about the dog I hit. Was mentioning to a co-worker that I wish I had got the dog owner's info because I have a scratch and dent on the hood of my car now and I'd like her to pay to get it fixed. I said "Maybe the scratch came from the collar, or leash, or maybe a tooth..." I could see he wanted to laugh, he bent over trying to control himself, I swear I saw him mouth "maybe a tooth". I have a sick sense of humor. This was all after he had said "At least I'm not a dog killer", so I was provoked.

Hit and killed a dog today. Didn't mean to, the dog was on a leash and got away from its owner. I couldn't see the golden retriever as it ran in front of my car. It was raining a little, and had the sun in my eyes at the same time. The accident happened in front of an acupuncture place for dogs pets and humans people (?wtf?) a vet (not sure he was) came out right away to try to revive the animal. There wasn't any blood, all the damage must've been internal. Actually there was blood dripping out of its mouth when they picked the dead dog up to take it into the acupuncture place. I left my name and phone number in case the former owner wants to try to sue me. She was all crying and stuff so I didn't want to hang around, she forgave me and thanked me for having the guts to stick around after the accident. I'm sure she feels much worse than I do, it's no fun killing a dog.

Finally getting kicked off the Verizon family plan this week, so I got a prepaid Virgin Mobile phone that cost 20 bucks. It's the new Marbl or something like that, made by Kyocera and it is a flimsy piece of crap. Oh well, don't plan on keeping it long, once the iPhone comes out I'll make up my mind about what cell phone I want. Either an iPhone or some sort of Symbian or Windows Mobile...or Palm.

No way am I buying another ringtone for this thing either. Bought "Romantic Rights" for 2.50 and the quality is awful, not even the part of the song I wanted, maybe you can preview before you buy. Wonder if I can get a data cable... nevermind, not keeping this phone.

I have a controlling interest in DS: Warranty Voided. I am amazed that the site is within 2 months of breaking even, that is assuming ad clicks stay at the current level. My math may be wrong, but I've had crapulent for years and have yet to get over 20 bucks worth of google ad revenue. The ds site has been active less than a month and earned almost 2 and a half bucks. Goes to show that good content, most of which comes via my partner, will get good visitors and clicks.

Today was my birthday, I don't celebrate birthdays, if you want gifts from me it can be Xmas or birthday, nobody doubles up. I'm not a christian, so I celebrate everyone's birthday on the 25th of December. I want to thank Larry Flynt for the generous offer of Hustler magazine for only 19.99 a year plus a free DVD, cover price would be 116.87 without the free DVD. Got a fucking zit inside my nose that I can't seem find the angle to squeeze to pop it. Might be a zit or ingrown hair, I don't care, just want to get rid of it. You know you're old when you have gray nose hairs, sometimes white.

I think Digg either took a clue from Reddit and Slashdot and decided they are in the clear and have nothing to worry about, or they censored for a few hours to cause a hubbub and then stopped in an effort to gain revenue from ad hits. No matter what I'm sure the Digg servers are getting hammered.

Do pugs ever stop shedding? Sheesh, hair everywhere. Staying at my folks place for who knows how long and they've got a couple of pugs. I would think that in the cold weather they'd keep as much hair as possible. Maybe when it gets colder.

Dummy at work told me that today. He voted, but didn't vote for president, just local elections. All because of the electoral college system we have, his lame state of Idaho only has 4. Obama won the popular vote as well.

The movie still sucks, but it looks a lot better in Blu-Ray. I will say that you can sort of tell the bad guys from the good guys in the higher def version. Viewing the DVD version I couldn't really follow the action, or tell which robot was which. To be honest I was catching up on email and stuff during the heavy CGI scenes. Just wanted to see what's her name in a belly shirt and short skirt in high def.

I've seen that people take credit for my work. Not difficult work, took me 15 minutes or less to do it, squeezed it out before I left on Friday. Emailed the result of my work to the coworker that requested it. Subsequently read an email where that coworker claimed that they created it, they may have edited it, but don't take full credit. Just gives me more reason to hate on folk. This particular coworker couldn't have created it ever. Best to move on if able. Will be with some folk this weekend that might have some options.

I just bought a new glass screen and tools to replace it off eBay. Shit is coming from Hong Kong. Why do they call it 2G? That 2G stuff confuses me. Anyway, even if it's the wrong size it was only around 14 bucks. Isn't the 3G iPhone the second generation? They claim it fits a 4 gig iPhone, so that would be a first generation iPhone.

A local company can replace the busted glass screen on my iPhone for "... $65 (parts), $10.88 Shipping, and $35 labor...", so hmm, math, let's see 110.88. Cheaper than sending it back to Apple. Too bad I don't have some other phone lying around I could put the sim card into during the repair time. They say 5-10 days turnaround. Would they need to have my iPhone the whole time? Need to find out what it would cost to get out of my ATT contract. Then go T-Mobile and G1, depending on what it costs to dump ATT. Although, I'm liking an App on the iPhone called GasHog that helps you track how many miles per gallon you get, and what the fuel costs per mile.

That G1 looks goofy, has no standard headphone jack, doesn't play video, not truly open thanks to T-Mobile, has a 2 year contract like ATT.

Fuck it, I'm stuck. Maybe I'll get the 3G iPhone instead and sell the busted one to help offset the cost. I'll have to make sure to take blurry pictures of it.

It was very easy to setup the first 3 times. Why 3 times? Well, I'm trying to use Boxee on it and that requires some work, not really, but I tried it over again when samba wasn't working. Still need some work to get samba shares to load. All the iTunes stuff works great, I can stream any media in my iTunes library fine, movies I've bought, podcasts, music I've bought. What I really want is samba shares to work. That will involve some ssh and ftp work. NitoTV may be the answer. Not a novice to ssh or ftp so I'm not scared about it, just too late in the day to tackle it tonight.

BTW: Never knew I could boot from a USB card reader.
