Mormon = cult, maybe, probably

Mitt Romney has no chance. Magic Underwear. Where is the talk about the underwear? Why is it magic? I've always heard about Mormon undies, what is so special about them?

Battery drain...

What the heck? Took my MacBook off the charger and the battery died within a few hours, why? The only thing I can think of is that I had my TransFlash usb thing plugged in. Anyway, Apple has released an update to battery management just this week. All I wanted to do was charge up my "new" ubuntu iBook. Now I need to get the wireless working on the uBook.

Is my iBook worth anything anymore? Welcome Ubuntu

I've dragged my feet for so long I wonder if it's even worth selling my old iBook. I guess I might get 700 500 bucks if I'm lucky on eBay. But I can use it for something if I put Ubuntu on it. I'm such a nerd, I want to use linux on my old mac, can't sell it, must extract all value from the overpriced Apple hardware.

Kidding about the overpriced thing. Nobody but Apple made PPC laptops (I think). If you spec out current Apple and non-apple laptops with pretty much all the same features you'll find that they are close in price.

I don't need you, I want you

What a great lyric by the fantastic group Death From Above 1979. Love the start of that song. That's why I put it up there on the left. If you listen to the lyrics .... blaha blahh

Song title is actually "Romantic Rights", not "Blood on Our Hands" as blog.musik reports.

Your romantic rights are all that you got
Push them down son it's more than just lip
C'mon girls I know you know what you want
C'mon, C'mon now and give them all shhhhh
You're beating walls now you just won't quit
You play with shapes but they just won't fit
I know you love me you don't know what you like
You're watching TV I stay up all night

I don't need you
I want you [2x]

South Carolina kid is heating things up
His wounds are bleeding and we're filling the cup
This game will save us if we don't die young
C'mon, c'mon now yea have some fun

Come here baby I love your company
We could do it and start a family
She was living alone unhappily
We could do it, it's right romantically [3x]

I don't need you
I want you [6x]

What the hell? Username and password as part of the email???

A long time ago I considered making a porn site, a thumbnail type porn site. Part of my research involved signing up with sites that provide the porn. Ever since then I'll get a "What's new" email once a month from one particular provider whose message will have my username and password as part of the email. Isn't email sent in plain text? Couldn't anybody along the way take over my account? I should complain, but then I wouldn't get free porn in my inbox...

I'll name 'em ounique.com

New design is a must

Put a Blog.musik thing on that just wont fit in the current layout, don't see a way to resize it in the javascript. This sucks because I'm lazy. I want my "Death From Above 1979"! Pretty sure that this is the song during the start of "Human Giant" a new favorite show on MTV.

BTW, I knew I could just tweak the css to make it fit, but it still doesn't really fit, design wise.

Ohs Nohs! No more legal streaming music on the Internets! (Maybe)

Say goodbye to sites like Pandora.com if the royalty rules aren't changed. Why should Pandora have to pay more than Satellite radio? It's not fair damn it. Sure Pandora is covered with ads, they are there to pay the current royalties.

Way to go TV, original reporting? Too much to ask?

What would the TV present about all the victims in the VTech shooting without the internets? TV presenters read from student's blogs, nice, I'm sure some bloggers will get semi-famous because they survived. I read about Dateline trolling on Facebook for friends of the shooter or witnesses to appear on TV. That's better than just reading from blogs. At least it's an attempt toward some original reporting.

No tax refund for me

I'm one of the smart people that have just the right amount of taxes taken out of my paycheck to cover my federal tax bill. Thought for sure I'd be paying tax, but thanks to that long distance tax refund thing ended up with a 54 dollar refund. Decided to apply the refund to next year's taxes. So I'm not gonna be buying an HDTV or Apple TV or Wii anytime soon.

Amazon context ads update.

I've decided to keep the Amazon context ads, need the income (haha, right, never made a dime). No, the real reason is because I want to see what kind of ads the Amazon bots will produce. If I thought my site had any traffic I'd nix the context ads toot suite due to the annoying factor.

Wait a minute ... Magritte

I really wanted to buy the This is not a Pipe t-shirt. At first blush it's a take off on the Magritte painting of an actual smoking type pipe with the text underneath stating "This is not a pipe" in French. When I think about the t-shirt it's not just a rip off of Magritte. That truly is not a pipe on the t-shirt. Mario can't go down that. Oh wait, now we can get into art crap, like a painting of a pipe isn't an actual pipe and that's what Magritte was saying. Either way you want to look at it Mario can't go down the pipe on the t-shirt, he'll die.

Uh-oh, what was that?

That's what I wondered this morning while I was bent over, I felt something shift in my lower back, and an immediate discomfort. Darn thing (my back) stiffened up throughout the day. The pain isn't really too bad, just annoying, nothing like the pain when I dislocated or whatever it was I did to my hip a few years ago. Anyway here's a link to some back pain info that I've been looking at recently. My back is gonna feel like hell in the morning.

Happy Easter, Go eat brains Zombie Jesus!

I don't know what happens once we die, or if there is a god. But I do know that Jesus was a Zombie. Only a zombie can wake from being dead. How that can mesh into the Bible I don't know. I want to see a cartoon with Zombie Jesus pushing back the stone covering his cave and then eating brains.

R4DS was worth the wait

Got my R4DS on Monday, takes forever for the mail to arrive from Hong Kong. I took a picture of the package it came in, might put that up later if it looks ok. I like to think of myself as a law abiding type guy, so I'll only use my R4DS for homebrew and games I already own.

Does Nintendo even try to take down ROM sites?

I will fess up to trying various ROMs out, if I like the game I'll buy it, promise! One such game is "Elite Beat Agents", buying it for sure, too much fun! I should buy a used version since I've played it already. Hmm, the used market doesn't give money back to the game publishers. I want more "Elite Beat" type games so I should buy a retail version. Trying to be an ethical pirate is hard work. A game I won't be buying is the original "Rayman" for the DS, don't like it and will delete it next time I have a chance.

So much dog hair

Do pugs ever stop shedding? Sheesh, hair everywhere. Staying at my folks place for who knows how long and they've got a couple of pugs. I would think that in the cold weather they'd keep as much hair as possible. Maybe when it gets colder.

"My Vote Doesn't Count"

Dummy at work told me that today. He voted, but didn't vote for president, just local elections. All because of the electoral college system we have, his lame state of Idaho only has 4. He claims that he hates the electoral college system and would rather that the popular vote would prevail. Hey dummy, you didn't vote for president, so yours didn't count period. Obama won the popular vote as well.

Transformers Blu-Ray

The movie still sucks, but it looks a lot better in Blu-Ray. I will say that you can sort of tell the bad guys from the good guys in the higher def version. Viewing the DVD version I couldn't really follow the action, or tell which robot was which. To be honest I was catching up on email and stuff during the heavy CGI scenes. Just wanted to see what's her name in a belly shirt and short skirt in high def.

I like hating coworkers

I've seen that people take credit for my work. Not difficult work, took me 15 minutes or less to do it, squeezed it out before I left on Friday. Emailed the result of my work to the coworker that requested it. Subsequently read an email where that coworker claimed that they created it, they may have edited it, but don't take full credit. Just gives me more reason to hate on folk. This particular coworker couldn't have created it ever. Best to move on if able. Will be with some folk this weekend that might have some options.

Kristen Wiig of SNL had a nose job

It's obvious. Why even debate it? If you look at Kristen Wiig's nose in "Walk Hard" and how it looks on the most recent episodes of SNL, it's clear that she had a nose job. I personally think she looks better.

AHHH, Sick of these political ads

WTF does "opposed defending marriage" mean? Does that mean he or she thinks homos should be able to get married? Fucking christians need to learn that America isn't a theocracy yet. Are there any non-religious congresspersons or senators?

Ok, might do some work on the broke dick iPhone

I just bought a new glass screen and tools to replace it off eBay. Shit is coming from Hong Kong. Why do they call it 2G? That 2G stuff confuses me. Anyway, even if it's the wrong size it was only around 14 bucks. Isn't the 3G iPhone the second generation? They claim it fits a 4 gig iPhone, so that would be a first generation iPhone.

iPhone glass replacement. Worth it?

A local company can replace the busted glass screen on my iPhone for "... $65 (parts), $10.88 Shipping, and $35 labor...", so hmm, math, let's see 110.88. Cheaper than sending it back to Apple. Too bad I don't have some other phone lying around I could put the sim card into during the repair time. They say 5-10 days turnaround. Would they need to have my iPhone the whole time? Need to find out what it would cost to get out of my ATT contract. Then go T-Mobile and G1, depending on what it costs to dump ATT. Although, I'm liking an App on the iPhone called GasHog that helps you track how many miles per gallon you get, and what the fuel costs per mile.

That G1 looks goofy, has no standard headphone jack, doesn't play video, not truly open thanks to T-Mobile, has a 2 year contract like ATT.

Fuck it, I'm stuck. Maybe I'll get the 3G iPhone instead and sell the busted one to help offset the cost. I'll have to make sure to take blurry pictures of it.

Got my used / refurbished Apple TV

It was very easy to setup the first 3 times. Why 3 times? Well, I'm trying to use Boxee on it and that requires some work, not really, but I tried it over again when samba wasn't working. Still need some work to get samba shares to load. All the iTunes stuff works great, I can stream any media in my iTunes library fine, movies I've bought, podcasts, music I've bought. What I really want is samba shares to work. That will involve some ssh and ftp work. NitoTV may be the answer. Not a novice to ssh or ftp so I'm not scared about it, just too late in the day to tackle it tonight.

BTW: Never knew I could boot from a USB card reader.

BTW 2: The 2.2 Apple TV update included 1080p.
