Hassenbeck rape episode of Law and Order aired again. Idiot Elisabeth Hasselbeck of "The View" thought this TV show was a threat to her because the victim's name is close to hers the first time it aired. I guess the producers and NBC didn't think so since it aired again with the same character names. Stupid bitch Hassenbeck, er Hasselbeck. Was the rape victim on the show married to a useless NFL benchwarmer? Don't think so.

Just watched the movie "Who Killed the Electric Car?" and got pretty turned on about the plug-in hybrid idea. PlugInAmerica.com is a website all about promoting electric cars. What I like the most about the pure electrics is that there is no need to change the oil or deal with all those mufflers and catalytic converters. I have an oil leak. Afraid to find out how much it'll cost to fix it.

Had to pay 300 bucks today to get new brakes and rotors. Also learned I need new struts, that'll be 500 bucks, electric cars have struts and brakes, so no cost savings there.

I just want a new car.

I guess that's what you get for buying used tires. I knew I was gonna wake up to a flat tire, parked in a puddle and heard the bubbles coming from the punctured tire. Didn't care enough to go get it fixed right then. Got a brand new (new to me) used tire for 25 bucks installed! Plus I was a half hour late for work, bonus!

Darn it all. Don't know exactly what fucked my Trixbox up, was it one of the updates? Was it the mangled install of Zoip, aka Zork over IP? I really want the Zork over IP to work, I'd love to send people on hold to a game of Zork.

Anyway, I fucked up my Voip phone again. I'll start again from scratch and see what happens.

I have a working voip phone again. Voicemail needs some tweaking. At this point my Sipura thing isn't doing anything except providing a bridge between my mini itx Trixbox system and the cheap ass cordless phone my nephew gave to me at Xmas last year. If it works out I'll consider putting the mini itx inside an old style type rotary dial phone, big, black and bulky. I used to have one...think I left it behind in a move...I'd fuck it up and have no phone again.

Now that version 2.0 is available I'm gonna blow out my beta trixbox and start over. Maybe the fresh start will result in harmony betwixt BroadVoice and Telasip. Yes I said betwixt. Right now it's too fucked up to dial out to any trunk. (trunk: the dealybop that does some magic phone stuff on an asterisk system)

I'm a fucking idiot. Voicemail is still a mess, but figured out my outgoing problem, had the wrong username in the settings. It's amazing I can even type, so stupid am I.

Duh, didn't have voicemail installed, so that is sort of fixed. Need it to say my name rather than extension number.

Have a dilemma, which number should I keep? 232.1871 or 209.9318? The 232 one "feels" better while keying it in on a phone. Hmmm. I'd have to pay to port the 232 number to telasip.

I stole this from Boing Boing. Are they idiot drivers, or super icy conditions? It's always fun to be behind the wheel and have no control while colliding into parked cars. I used to love trying to get out of control in snowy conditions, but always in a place where I couldn't bang into anything, like an empty parking lot, or neighbor's yard, stupid tree.

Apple TV. I've been waiting for this thing, it only does 720p. It has component, and I have a home made component cable I'd like to use... I reckon the hard drive is for buffering because it can't even stream 720p without dropouts. Not shipping until February so I have some time to think on it.

Next thing is the iPhone, want one, it does WiFi and Cingular. Not available until June or something like that. Gives me tons of time to figure out my Trixbox that is totally fucked up right now, and has never worked as I wanted.

Could it be true? I might have a working Trixbox server. Finally figured out why I couldn't get it to work with BroadVoice, didn't have the right SIP password, duh, no wonder. Plugged the correct password into the config files and presto changeo, success, sort of. Was able to make a few test calls before BroadVoice decided to become unreachable. Hopefully in the next day or two I'll have my credentials for TelaSIP, another "inexpensive" VOIP provider.

C'mon TelaSIP, I know you took my money, give me my credentials, oh and please offer a local number. Kinda hard to tell from your website if I can have a local number or not.

Update: Got my credentials from TelaSIP. I can dial out fine, but can't dial into the number they gave me. Might be a propagation type thing, meaning the regular phone companies don't know that the number TeleSIP gave me is active yet.

Do pugs ever stop shedding? Sheesh, hair everywhere. Staying at my folks place for who knows how long and they've got a couple of pugs. I would think that in the cold weather they'd keep as much hair as possible. Maybe when it gets colder.

iPhone glass replacement kit showed up today. The glass in the kit was broken. Shoot.

Dummy at work told me that today. He voted, but didn't vote for president, just local elections. All because of the electoral college system we have, his lame state of Idaho only has 4. He claims that he hates the electoral college system and would rather that the popular vote would prevail. Hey dummy, you didn't vote for president, so yours didn't count period. Obama won the popular vote as well.

The movie still sucks, but it looks a lot better in Blu-Ray. I will say that you can sort of tell the bad guys from the good guys in the higher def version. Viewing the DVD version I couldn't really follow the action, or tell which robot was which. To be honest I was catching up on email and stuff during the heavy CGI scenes. Just wanted to see what's her name in a belly shirt and short skirt in high def.

I've seen that people take credit for my work. Not difficult work, took me 15 minutes or less to do it, squeezed it out before I left on Friday. Emailed the result of my work to the coworker that requested it. Subsequently read an email where that coworker claimed that they created it, they may have edited it, but don't take full credit. Just gives me more reason to hate on folk. This particular coworker couldn't have created it ever. Best to move on if able. Will be with some folk this weekend that might have some options.

It's obvious. Why even debate it? If you look at Kristen Wiig's nose in "Walk Hard" and how it looks on the most recent episodes of SNL, it's clear that she had a nose job. I personally think she looks better.

I just bought a new glass screen and tools to replace it off eBay. Shit is coming from Hong Kong. Why do they call it 2G? That 2G stuff confuses me. Anyway, even if it's the wrong size it was only around 14 bucks. Isn't the 3G iPhone the second generation? They claim it fits a 4 gig iPhone, so that would be a first generation iPhone.

A local company can replace the busted glass screen on my iPhone for "... $65 (parts), $10.88 Shipping, and $35 labor...", so hmm, math, let's see 110.88. Cheaper than sending it back to Apple. Too bad I don't have some other phone lying around I could put the sim card into during the repair time. They say 5-10 days turnaround. Would they need to have my iPhone the whole time? Need to find out what it would cost to get out of my ATT contract. Then go T-Mobile and G1, depending on what it costs to dump ATT. Although, I'm liking an App on the iPhone called GasHog that helps you track how many miles per gallon you get, and what the fuel costs per mile.

That G1 looks goofy, has no standard headphone jack, doesn't play video, not truly open thanks to T-Mobile, has a 2 year contract like ATT.

Fuck it, I'm stuck. Maybe I'll get the 3G iPhone instead and sell the busted one to help offset the cost. I'll have to make sure to take blurry pictures of it.

It was very easy to setup the first 3 times. Why 3 times? Well, I'm trying to use Boxee on it and that requires some work, not really, but I tried it over again when samba wasn't working. Still need some work to get samba shares to load. All the iTunes stuff works great, I can stream any media in my iTunes library fine, movies I've bought, podcasts, music I've bought. What I really want is samba shares to work. That will involve some ssh and ftp work. NitoTV may be the answer. Not a novice to ssh or ftp so I'm not scared about it, just too late in the day to tackle it tonight.

BTW: Never knew I could boot from a USB card reader.
