Boing Boing inticed me to download Mac The Ripper. An OSX DVD archiving (stealing) program. I'm gonna have to test it out when my next Netflix DVD shows up. Sucks that I don't have a DVD burner...yet.

WTF is wrong with me? I agreed to pay a couple of old dykes 17 dollars to rake leaves. They wanted 30 bucks, but I only had 17. I think these dykes go door to door looking for yard work. They wanted to weed my flower beds last year. I shouldn't respond to my doorbell ringing, or door knocking.

Shit movie. Lots of driving around, no dialogue, some hooker action, lots of boring, and then some more boring. And a kinda creepy black dodge van. I thought this movie was supposed to be edgy, or controversial, it's just boring. Oh and there's the graphic sex stuff, but I think it's faked, if it's not so what? If it's the real thing, then a very boring movie has a real blow job in it. How the heck did that "Brown Bunny" movie win any award? Boring + BJ = Award

Here's a tip to idiots. Don't turn off computers by hitting the on/off switch. Use the mouse and click "Start", then click "Shut Down". I've never had this situation before on an XP machine. It got totally borked because it was turned off while print jobs were pending. The computer wouldn't boot up, bitched about a missing thing don't remember what it was, suggested a recovery. Recovery didn't work, re-installed Windows, it works for now. And the best part is that it actually printed the thing it was trying to print when it borked before it finished re-installing Windows.

This is not the real site, I don't think so anyway. I really want to love this "Colbert Report" show on Comedy Central after "Daily Show". Can't do it yet. Maybe if they tape it Stephen can read his lines correctly and they can stitch it all together. Another problem is he melts in the one on one portion, the hard ass idiot character isn't visible.

I'm so conflicted, can't decide. My job ended it's retirement plan and I have to decide what to do with my portion. Roll-over into an IRA, or get cash...mmm...cash... Couldn't pass up the deal on cheap hosting from GoDaddy.com. Signed up for two years, AND I used a coupon code for 10% off, so it worked out to around $2.50 per month. Now maybe I can get the date correct if I'm hosted in the USA. USA! USA! USA! Only problem is I don't get Perl on the cheap plan...not sure I need it, but I want it. Oh, and yes I've paid for two years of hosting upfront, it better not suck.

Got a voicemail from Philips regarding my warranty claim today. Sucks for them because I already got my replacement from Amazon. Maybe I should've waited a bit longer before I went to Amazon...oh well. I'm sending the non-working player back to Amazon tomorrow.

Apple announced the new iPod today, big surprise, it does Video, and has Video out (neat). What I was hoping for was that they would unleash an Airport Express that does video, not just audio. I need a device that can wirelessly send surround sound and video to a variety of sources from a computer. Do it Apple, do it, do it.

Made a replacement claim with Amazon about my defective Philips DVD player. The super cool dudes at Amazon will send me a new one even before I send back the bad one. Awesome! I have 30 days to return the f'd up DVD player at my expense, if I don't return it I'll get charged for the replacement, that's fair. I should've gone this route first rather than trying Philips warranty process. Whee!

Put the piece of crap Compaq thing I "borrowed" from my job in the trash because I'm tired of looking at it. Also threw out most of a computer case that was supposed to be free after rebate that I never got. Richo Ricoh SCSI CD burner was thrown in the trash too. Made sense to throw out the case because I had already thrown out the power supply that came with it. I hope it's not illegal to throw out computers in my community...

I insert a 700 MB blank cd in my iBook, try to copy a 697.2 MB file to the cd, but it only has 660.7 available...WTF? Do I have go command line to get all 700 MB? Dern it. Who's the liar? The blank CD or Mac OSX? I know there's overhead and some other crap excuse. Arrgh! How can I be a pirate with these limitations? Still no response from Philips about the no DVD play situation. Think I'll just send it back to Amazon and let them figure it out.

Dummy at work told me that today. He voted, but didn't vote for president, just local elections. All because of the electoral college system we have, his lame state of Idaho only has 4. He claims that he hates the electoral college system and would rather that the popular vote would prevail. Hey dummy, you didn't vote for president, so yours didn't count period. Obama won the popular vote as well.

The movie still sucks, but it looks a lot better in Blu-Ray. I will say that you can sort of tell the bad guys from the good guys in the higher def version. Viewing the DVD version I couldn't really follow the action, or tell which robot was which. To be honest I was catching up on email and stuff during the heavy CGI scenes. Just wanted to see what's her name in a belly shirt and short skirt in high def.

I've seen that people take credit for my work. Not difficult work, took me 15 minutes or less to do it, squeezed it out before I left on Friday. Emailed the result of my work to the coworker that requested it. Subsequently read an email where that coworker claimed that they created it, they may have edited it, but don't take full credit. Just gives me more reason to hate on folk. This particular coworker couldn't have created it ever. Best to move on if able. Will be with some folk this weekend that might have some options.

I just bought a new glass screen and tools to replace it off eBay. Shit is coming from Hong Kong. Why do they call it 2G? That 2G stuff confuses me. Anyway, even if it's the wrong size it was only around 14 bucks. Isn't the 3G iPhone the second generation? They claim it fits a 4 gig iPhone, so that would be a first generation iPhone.

A local company can replace the busted glass screen on my iPhone for "... $65 (parts), $10.88 Shipping, and $35 labor...", so hmm, math, let's see 110.88. Cheaper than sending it back to Apple. Too bad I don't have some other phone lying around I could put the sim card into during the repair time. They say 5-10 days turnaround. Would they need to have my iPhone the whole time? Need to find out what it would cost to get out of my ATT contract. Then go T-Mobile and G1, depending on what it costs to dump ATT. Although, I'm liking an App on the iPhone called GasHog that helps you track how many miles per gallon you get, and what the fuel costs per mile.

That G1 looks goofy, has no standard headphone jack, doesn't play video, not truly open thanks to T-Mobile, has a 2 year contract like ATT.

Fuck it, I'm stuck. Maybe I'll get the 3G iPhone instead and sell the busted one to help offset the cost. I'll have to make sure to take blurry pictures of it.

It was very easy to setup the first 3 times. Why 3 times? Well, I'm trying to use Boxee on it and that requires some work, not really, but I tried it over again when samba wasn't working. Still need some work to get samba shares to load. All the iTunes stuff works great, I can stream any media in my iTunes library fine, movies I've bought, podcasts, music I've bought. What I really want is samba shares to work. That will involve some ssh and ftp work. NitoTV may be the answer. Not a novice to ssh or ftp so I'm not scared about it, just too late in the day to tackle it tonight.

BTW: Never knew I could boot from a USB card reader.

BTW 2: The 2.2 Apple TV update included 1080p.
