Watched Blade Trinity again. Not as bad as I suggested in chat sessions earlier. Actually ok, plus my favorite comic Patton Oswalt plays the equivilant of 'Q' in the James Bond movies. He's needed since Chris Christofferson got blowed up. Here's a tip, when watching a movie, actually watch it, don't chat online, surf the web, play games on your cell phone, watch the movie.

took almost 2 hours to download the high quality mac only version of the first Systm episode via bittorrent. I'm sure I would've got it faster if I chose Xvid or Windows Media. Not bad for a show made by people that used to work for basic cable TV.

just heard the most ridiculous thing ever on a Leo Leporte podcast. he said to save money use monster cables. ??? the context was in reference to tech i'm not familiar with, but c'mon, monster cables??? rip-off.

I've turned off comments until I figure out why I'm getting the photogallery error. Think somehow my site reverted to an old version, templates are all messed up. Very frustrated. Trying to get my Movable Type junk into Drupal with no success. Some kind folk have written scripts, made templates and instructions but I'm too dense to figure it out. And now it's raining so hard that my DirecTV isn't working. Dagnabit! Oh, and somehow I messed up my layout so the search thing is on the top, for goodness sake, I'm very upset.

If only I had back-ups...darn. The few folk who visit this site will have to suffer with an old template until I get around to fixing it.

Looks like things might be getting back to normal soon for BroadVoice users like me. The problem seems to be how BroadVoice classified certain calls and how Global Crossing wanted to classify those same calls in terms of how much to charge for the service. If you read the Open Letter from David Epstein, the president of BroadVoice, I think you might agree.

I want a credit for all the down time, paid a lot of money for this service, almost 10 dollars a month.......Just kidding, you get what you pay for, what do you expect for only 10 bucks?

Realized a partial reason my BroadVoice is messed up today ... I'm downloading / seeding a mess of Dr. Who torrents.

John Stewart mispronounced my fair city's name today on "The Daily Show". They did a little story about our fag mayor Jim West, didn't say anything about the child molestation charges, which I think are completely bogus. If West is able to survive this deal and run for office again I want him to use the Pet Shop Boys song "Go West" as his theme for a couple of reasons. One: it's a great song, two: Pet Shop Boys are fags too and I think if West wants to continue his political career he needs to embrace his own faggotness and stop supporting anti-gay policies.

What is the deal with BroadVoice? I can call 1-800 numbers and be heard, can call my voicemail from my phone and hear it. Can't call any non 800 numbers and be heard. If someone tries to call me nobody hears anything, I think voicemail picks up if I don't answer, but you can't hear it. Tech support has a message saying that they are aware of the problems and the engineers are working on it. Very annoying.

update 5/10/05: BroadVoice seems to be working today, so far.

update 5/11/05: Crapped out again, WTF? Do I need to start believing the rumors on message boards saying BroadVoice isn't paying their bills and that's why service is so messed up? Very glad I'm not trying to run a business using BroadVoice as my only "phone" company.

Yes, it's true, Jennifer Garner is pregnant. Don't think I'm the dad, but I have a really bad memory, so, we might need a test.

The thing I'm really trying to father is my new site based on Drupal, but I'm lazy, taking my own sweet time. Really like all the features of Drupal, someday soon this site will be on Drupal not Movable Type, if I get around to it.

Will be trying out Drupal sometime in the next couple of days. There's a plugin for Movable Type to aid in this conversion, so I'll install that first. I'm scared. Might not actually try it. What the heck, I'll test it, won't have a forum, or a shoutbox. Biggest thing I'm worried about is the layout and general design of it.

Ahh, Leo, Patrick, etc. you guys must feel so good about yourselves with all the traffic and downloading you're getting from the podcast. Will your voluntary subscription model work?

Wondering if I should try Drupal out instead of Movable Type. Maybe I'll test it. Only if it's really easy to post stuff like on Movable Type. I don't want to do any HTML coding to post about Meth or whatever else.

Considering trying it out...afraid I'll end up depressed by lack of visitors and members. For example it can show how many people are online at any one time, most of time my site would be one or zero, that makes me sad.

Glad to know that some of my favorite TV personalities are collaborating on a podcast. Sucks that the podcast is ogg vorbis and my Airport Express can't handle that format. I like to listen on my stereo not my 'puter. Maybe there's a firmware thing to get it to play ogg. Had to install a thing for iTunes to even recognize ogg, but iTunes won't send the signal to the Airport Express. Maybe I need a system wide reboot. It it works in iTunes it should play on the Airport Express ... If I was in Canada I'd call up "Call for Help" and make Leo figure this out for me.

update 5/3/05: There are a variety of formats to choose from, the podcast is now semi-officially called TWIT or This Week In Tech, and there will probably be a video version in the future. I'll be getting the m4b audio version just because.

I sure don't remember a demo like this one in my High School chemistry classes. We also didn't grow pot in 4H. Good to know that the cop didn't actually give out the ingredient list to the kids, because it's really difficult to find out what they are otherwise. The folk at Flagship Studios are some of the ones who made Diablo at Blizzard. They are about to reveal their new game "Hellgate: London" soon. If it's as much fun as Diablo I'll be wishing I had a PC to play it on. Love the click, click, click, pick up treasure, click some more type games.

Is that true? Microsoft is paying Jesus Freak Ralph Reed 20 grand a month for advice? Did Ralph advise releasing the 64 bit version of Windows before Longhorn comes out of the closet? Dummy at work told me that today. He voted, but didn't vote for president, just local elections. All because of the electoral college system we have, his lame state of Idaho only has 4. He claims that he hates the electoral college system and would rather that the popular vote would prevail. Hey dummy, you didn't vote for president, so yours didn't count period. Obama won the popular vote as well.

The movie still sucks, but it looks a lot better in Blu-Ray. I will say that you can sort of tell the bad guys from the good guys in the higher def version. Viewing the DVD version I couldn't really follow the action, or tell which robot was which. To be honest I was catching up on email and stuff during the heavy CGI scenes. Just wanted to see what's her name in a belly shirt and short skirt in high def.

I've seen that people take credit for my work. Not difficult work, took me 15 minutes or less to do it, squeezed it out before I left on Friday. Emailed the result of my work to the coworker that requested it. Subsequently read an email where that coworker claimed that they created it, they may have edited it, but don't take full credit. Just gives me more reason to hate on folk. This particular coworker couldn't have created it ever. Best to move on if able. Will be with some folk this weekend that might have some options.

I just bought a new glass screen and tools to replace it off eBay. Shit is coming from Hong Kong. Why do they call it 2G? That 2G stuff confuses me. Anyway, even if it's the wrong size it was only around 14 bucks. Isn't the 3G iPhone the second generation? They claim it fits a 4 gig iPhone, so that would be a first generation iPhone.

A local company can replace the busted glass screen on my iPhone for "... $65 (parts), $10.88 Shipping, and $35 labor...", so hmm, math, let's see 110.88. Cheaper than sending it back to Apple. Too bad I don't have some other phone lying around I could put the sim card into during the repair time. They say 5-10 days turnaround. Would they need to have my iPhone the whole time? Need to find out what it would cost to get out of my ATT contract. Then go T-Mobile and G1, depending on what it costs to dump ATT. Although, I'm liking an App on the iPhone called GasHog that helps you track how many miles per gallon you get, and what the fuel costs per mile.

That G1 looks goofy, has no standard headphone jack, doesn't play video, not truly open thanks to T-Mobile, has a 2 year contract like ATT.

Fuck it, I'm stuck. Maybe I'll get the 3G iPhone instead and sell the busted one to help offset the cost. I'll have to make sure to take blurry pictures of it.

It was very easy to setup the first 3 times. Why 3 times? Well, I'm trying to use Boxee on it and that requires some work, not really, but I tried it over again when samba wasn't working. Still need some work to get samba shares to load. All the iTunes stuff works great, I can stream any media in my iTunes library fine, movies I've bought, podcasts, music I've bought. What I really want is samba shares to work. That will involve some ssh and ftp work. NitoTV may be the answer. Not a novice to ssh or ftp so I'm not scared about it, just too late in the day to tackle it tonight.

BTW: Never knew I could boot from a USB card reader.

BTW 2: The 2.2 Apple TV update included 1080p.
