Got to thinking how I learned about "Tom of Finland". I've known about those dirty gay comics for a long time, never owned any, or read any. It was the good old Amok Books catalog. I had that thing long before I had the internet. What a great catalog, I would read it all the time, and wish I was rich so I could order all those interesting books. Sections on Anarchy, Drugs, Sex, Real Crime, and I can't remember what else.

Is that where I bought "The Anarchist Cookbook"...no, I think I got that at Hastings. I know I ordered some books from them, maybe Jim Thompson novels before he got popular again. Pretty sure that's where I got "They Call Me Mr. Gacy" a collection of letters to and responses from serial killer John Wayne Gacy while he was on death row. Do they still print that catalog? If they do I'm getting on the mailing list.

Ok Ok, I know this show has been on the air for over a month, but I just discovered it a couple weeks ago with the "Rats off to You" episode. Fantastic! I'm sure all the anime fans will hate it. In fact do a search on one of the internets for "Tom Goes to the Mayor" and you'll find loads of vitriolic hate speech. (Don't search for "Tom of Finland" by mistake, ewww.) One of the reasons I love the program is the guest stars. Stars like Patton Oswalt, Jeff Garlin, Tenacious D, David Cross. Maybe "star" is too strong a word, how about "special guests".

Here's my current ranking of Sunday Adult Swim shows: 1. Harvey Birdman, 2. Tom Goes to the Mayor, 3. Sealab 2021. Is Harvey Birdman still on? If it is I need to have a chat with my TiVO...

Really liked that spotless mind movie. I've got some think abouts regarding the film. When did the memory wiping begin or end? How many times had the folk gone through the memory wipe? Elijah Wood as Patrick is a total perv. He's the kind of guy who would screw comatose patients.

Just downloaded the new update to OS X. I'm now at 10.3.7 and whatever they did to the video drivers, thanks! I salute you Steve Jobs! Now if only there were some games I could play.

I love this idea, a piercing to hold eyeglasses in place. Can't get to the site right now, it's overloaded, but I imagine it takes the pinch the nose glasses to a new level, pierce the nose and hold glasses. Damn, why didn't I think of that?

Gotta wonder about balance, the lense over my right eye probably weighs more than the lense over my left eye. Maybe angle of piercing can take into effect differences of weight to insure proper vision. Sounds complicated now, not loving it so much.

I just chipped a tooth biting a fingernail. WTF? I get tons of calcium. Lots of cheese eat do I. The nerve isn't exposed, think I can wait it out until the new year when I get dental coverage at work. My tongue is in love with my jagged tooth, can't leave it alone...

I am pissed off at NBC and CBS. They've managed to mess up my TiVo recordings by shifting the time their programs start. Example, I record CSI starts at 9pm ends at 10pm. I also record ER, starts at 9:59 pm...conflict!!! TiVo is recording CSI at 9:59, can't record ER, TiVo not smart enough to start recording after a program has started.

So TiVo won't record one of those programs, this week TiVo said no to CSI. I manually started recording CSI and will have to manually start recording ER. Jerks! Guess I'm really pissed at NBC. Grant Tinker! (no clue who heads NBC nowadays)

Wanted to buy World of Warcraft. Went to CompUsa to get the WoW. Couldn't find it anywhere...I have a Mac, went to the Mac software aisle, didn't see WoW. Went to the PC game area, couldn't find WoW. Saw lots of Warcrafts, but no WoW.

I saw bunches of Half Life 2, but that's not on Mac, can't play that.

Went home dejected, got online, looked at CompUsa's website, and lo and behold, WoW is available at the very store I had been inside previously that evening. Well fuck me, I didn't see it anywhere, maybe you have to ask a sales drone for it.

For all I know there's a giant display in the middle of the store for WoW, might be my new glasses, not used to them yet...

I've got to pick exterior colors for my house. Think I'll go with historically traditional ones for a Craftsman style bungalow. Didn't find much searching until I found this Flickr photo set. Some kind of green for the body is what I'm leaning towards. The neighbors on the left have a yellowish house and the guy on the right has a white one. I've got some time to decide because it's way too cold right now to paint.

Did a walkthru of my burned house today. Everything has been stripped down to bare floors and studs. That pic is where the fire almost burned through the living room floor. Keep in mind that there was carpet and another wood floor that the flames ate up before creating those almost holes.

That's what I thought when watching "The Office" earlier tonight. Turns out that hump wasn't the one from Cheaters. It was Kenneth Cole, who happens to look a lot like the hump from Cheaters. Kenneth Cole designs shoes and other stuff that they sell at Macy's. I don't think he confronts people who are cheating on their spouses. Maybe he confronts people who wear counterfeit shoes.

My latest electric bill showed up in my inbox today. It wasn't as good as my Qwest bill where they owe me, pretty good though. Only 21 bucks, compared to the last one before the fire which was over 100 bucks more than that. Almost hate to move back after all the repairs are done, really enjoy these cheap utilities.

It's been almost 30 days since I last slept in my own bed. Don't think I'd want to sleep in it now, probably in a landfill. Thankfully those two aren't allowed in my guest room, or else there'd be hair all over my new MacBook Pro. Should only be three more months of their crap to put up with, "... feed me, pet me, play with me ..."

And, I should find out next week for sure how the whole "contents" thing will work with my homeowner's insurance. Hope that ambulance ride will be covered by my health insurance, picked up my mail Friday and there was a notice claiming that they think some other insurance might cover it because it was the result of an accident. Had to fill out a form, now I get to wait and see.

Got a new bill from Qwest in my email today. They actually owe me 26 bucks. Not everything sucks when your house almost burns down. I guess they owe me because they bill in advance. I got lucky when they agreed to let me out of the two year commitment, but c'mon, I'm not in the house, how can I use their DSL on melted phone lines? DirecTV let me put the service on hold for six months and will give me a free move-in thing, or something. Awesome!

Do pugs ever stop shedding? Sheesh, hair everywhere. Staying at my folks place for who knows how long and they've got a couple of pugs. I would think that in the cold weather they'd keep as much hair as possible. Maybe when it gets colder.

iPhone glass replacement kit showed up today. The glass in the kit was broken. Shoot.

Dummy at work told me that today. He voted, but didn't vote for president, just local elections. All because of the electoral college system we have, his lame state of Idaho only has 4. He claims that he hates the electoral college system and would rather that the popular vote would prevail. Hey dummy, you didn't vote for president, so yours didn't count period. Obama won the popular vote as well.

The movie still sucks, but it looks a lot better in Blu-Ray. I will say that you can sort of tell the bad guys from the good guys in the higher def version. Viewing the DVD version I couldn't really follow the action, or tell which robot was which. To be honest I was catching up on email and stuff during the heavy CGI scenes. Just wanted to see what's her name in a belly shirt and short skirt in high def.
