Whew! Locked my domain.
ICANN changed the rules regarding domain names. I don't know the details, but GoDaddy sent me an email suggesting I "lock" my domain. Apparently if somebody challenges your domain and if there is no answer within 5 days the domain will transfer automatically. I locked my domain, no clue how that protects me. It was free to get locked down, so why not?
Hmmm, thought I paid for the domain for a long time. WTF? Well I guess it's time to go domain grabbing again.

What's the deal? Is it a holiday or something?...oh yeah it is
Was going to pick up Neverwinter Nights for the mac and an Airport Express today at CompUsa. Couldn't find a parking spot, they had a freaking searchlight in the lot. What was so special about today? Day before Thanksgiving...so that means a searchlight in the lot. I thought day after Thanksgiving was "busiest shopping day of the year", today is "heaviest travel day of the year".

Sweet, I'm getting one of them Airport Expresses
This is so cool. Had no idea you could control an Airport Express with SlimServer. Read about it here. I can get an Airport Express for my living room, and since I usually have my iBook in my living room...the fact that the the Airport Express doesn't come with a remote control or any type of display doesn't matter anymore. My laptop will be the display AND the remote, two great tastes that go great together!
Still need to get a SqueezeBox for my basement, and possibly one for the bedroom. They come in fancy colors now, glad I've waited to buy.

Ha Ha!!
Found the battery charger for my camera. I hid it in the camera case, who knew. Soon to be posting pictures of my new portable pc. Gonna shove all the component pieces into my "Tuffbox". A kind of tackle box I used while in college to hold tubes of paint and paint brushes. Pretty sure I can fit all the junk I need, full size power supply, mini-itx mobo, 160 gig HD, CD burner.

Got a memory card reader today
I bought my digital camera (EPSON PhotoPC 750Z) before USB was fashionable, so I needed to get a memory card reader to get images off the camera onto my iBook. Now I can post pictures, once I find my battery charger. Here's one that was on my memory card.

That pickle kinda looks like a baby's head, wierd. It was yummy and very crunchy. Had to floss to get the hairs out of my teeth. Wait...
Oh My God!
Planned Parenthood Pickles are people! and delicious.
Visit your local Planned Parenthood today for a jar of pickled babies.

Arrrgggghhhh!!!!!
Why is it so difficult to make my Mac print to my Lexmark e210? Couldn't find the disc that came with the printer, so went to Lexmark's site to download a driver. Ended up d/l'ing a server program and a client program...WTF??? I don't get it, can't print. I must've searched wrong, just need a driver to print, no server, no clients.
This printer is plug and play in windows, and linux, starting to hate my mac.
My linkstation claims to work as a print server, but I couldn't get it to work either. Arrrghhhh!

Using the internet to hunt?
Read about this site today. The first article I read didn't mention the website name, but a little googling and I found it. On the site you can control a camera and aim a .22 rifle to shoot real bullets at real targets, and maybe soon, real live animals.
Not sure what I think about this. Is it cool? Or scary? I've never shot a gun in real life but have done it countless times in video games. I imagine the experience aiming and firing a real gun over the 'net feels more like a video game. I think if you're hunting you should have to face the reality of killing the prey, that includes gutting and cleaning the carcass yourself.
check it out, costs around 15 bucks a month to be a member. live-shot.com

Committed a Felony, got away with it, Whew!
Made a mistake in addition while asking for change at the bank today. A thousand dollar mistake. Silly underpaid teller didn't check my addition and gave me too much money. I think technically I committed a crime and could've been arrested. I'd rather not lose my right to vote for Ralph Nader, so I was glad when the bank called and pointed out my poor math skills and gave me an opportunity to return the extra thousand dollars before any authorities were called. I happily complied, and am not in jail tonight, yet.

Lunchbox PC is a no go
Can't make the lunchbox PC, too small to fit all the junk. The tiny power supply I bought doesn't work, so I'm going to use one of the full sized ones I have lying around.
Now I'm thinking I might use the box my iBook came in for a case...but that's too big, I'll have to look at that box, if there's a plastic handle on it, maybe. Or just attach all the components to my desk and leave them out in the open. The desk has an area built-in to house a mid sized tower computer case, so plenty of room, but that's not very portable.
At least the mini-itx mobo works and is running Fedora Core 2 for the time being. Once I figure out where to put the mini I'll try installing Fedora Core 3 over the internet, how exciting!

Who Ray! Don & Mike's site is live today!
My favorite radio progrum has launched an official website. Too bad they don't stream it, or offer the full shows for download. I didn't really look at the store yet, are there any christmas sweaters?
might as well link to these show related folk too. Joe, the world's oldest phonescreener, Tom "the monster" Gavin, a fantastic speller, Dennis Murphy, half tongued, one armed CPA.
Tom and Dennis don't get much time on the show anymore, but they started their websites years ago. Homo Joe's site seems to have died, don't think he died...or did he?
Very disappointed the audio is in Windows Media format. Must be the damn CBS lawyers.

Asked a wrong question I guess. Drama will be forthcoming. Don't care to lay out any details to protect the people affected. Stupid google ads.

Black or White?
Saw a dude in a gas station today. He was black, or was he? All of his features were white, I mean no question a white guy, but his skin was black. Think he worked somewhere that would make you black until you bathed. I wanted to ask him about it, but feared I'd seem racist.

RIP Freakysims.net
I guess freakysims.net is no more. Not a sims fan so much anymore, although there is The Urbs coming, or already out. Halo 2 was just released, $100 million plus sales today. Wow, games make more than movies.
Have a feeling the site owner might be in distress, or maybe he got Halo 2 and is playing online.

Delicious Library
I couldn't get online for a couple of days, not sure why, now my mac seems sluggish...anyway
Just downloaded Delicious Library, an OSX only cataloging / database program. It is way cool, heard about it on The Screensavers. If I had an iSight camera I could scan barcodes from books, games, dvds and they would automatically be imported into the database. Alternate ways to input stuff are with some bluetooth scanner you can buy, or type in the UPC/ISBN. That is if Delicous Library can find it on Amazon, if not on Amazon you can fill in all the info manually, or throw the item out (that's what I'm doing, filling it out manually, not throwing it out).
Delicious Library steals images and info off Amazon based on the UPC or ISBN of your game or cd or dvd. Kinda sucks for me since some of my cds and dvds come from places like BMG or Columbia House, for example the number that's on my copy of Hellboy (bought from Columbia House DVD Club) doesn't match anything on Amazon.
The demo version will allow you to input 25 items, after that it's 40 bucks to buy. I'm digging the demo, since I have a whole lot more than 25 things I'll probably be buying it. If you have a Mac check out the demo from Delicious Monter.

USA needs a draft
Just watched Fahreneit 9/11. Makes me want to join the Army. Change things from the inside. I reckon I'd be an officer right away because of my college degree...I could draw pictures of blown up people.

Mr. or Miss/Ms/Mrs. Moneybags, buy me this...
A superduper extra crazy pricey set of "Criterion Collection" DVDs is on sale. I want that for XMas. As a non believer I look at XMas as a ... exchange of gifts between loved ones. If I get it somebody won the lottery, or they are trying to buy my love.

Fuck the president, what about wireless audio?
Today G4TechTV had a review of wireless audio devices, linked to here, in a nutshell they are flat out wrong.
Slim Devices is the right choice period. The Roku is a distant second.
SlimServer is open source, all of those products could've used it if they wanted to. Roku might be cool if you are iTunes (non purchased) only, but sheesh you can tell SlimServer to use your iTunes folder, so there's no real difference. I'm sad Kerry isn't winning, so this post might be no make sense.

Canada here I come, maybe...
F'ball Bush might be winning. I don't understand how so many people could vote for Bush. Plain don't get it. Where can I go as an ex-patriot? Canada is nice. Always wanted to go to Australia. New Zealand is a gorgeous country. Maybe somewhere in Central America, or Mexico...
Some might be suicidal if Kerry doesn't win, or just suicidal in general, all I know is that Venom, or any Satanic band is stupid by the very fact that they are Satanic.
Here are some links, the first one is an idea I had for this site, too late I guess.
